30 Minutes Series
The 30 Minutes Series is Bandai's modular, snap-fit kit platform built around one core idea: maximum customization with minimum friction. No glue, no primer required to start, no long build sessions just to see results. The name refers to the approachable build time, but the real hook is the system underneath — a shared joint standard that makes every part in the lineup cross-compatible with everything else.
What makes the 30 Minutes Series different from other Bandai kit lines is that it was designed from the ground up as a customization platform, not just a way to build a specific character or mech. The kits are original designs — no anime license, no source material to stay faithful to. That freedom is the point. You build the base kit, then you start modifying. Swap limbs. Change the weapon loadout. Mix parts between sub-lines. The only rule is whether the joint fits, and within the system, it almost always does.
The lineup breaks down into distinct sub-lines, each with its own aesthetic and focus. 30 Minute Missions is the original mech line — military-styled exosuits and armored frames at 1/144 scale, with an extensive catalog of weapon sets, option parts, and vehicle expansions that make it the deepest customization pool in the series. It also includes the 30MM Armored Core crossover with Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon, bringing FromSoftware's iconic AC designs into the same modular system. 30 Minute Sisters takes the same platform in a completely different direction: female figure kits with interchangeable faces, hair parts, outfits, and accessories, built for the figure customization and diorama crowd. And 30 Minute Fantasy moves into original fantasy character designs — knights, mages, and warriors with the same modular swap-out system applied to armor, weapons, and equipment parts.
Across all three sub-lines, the snap-fit build experience is consistent. Parts separate cleanly from the runner, gate placement is considered, and the assembly process is logical enough that you don't need instructions after the first build. That accessibility is real: a complete beginner can finish a base kit in a single session and have something display-worthy at the end of it. For builders with more experience, the system rewards going deeper. Custom paint schemes, part-swapping across multiple kits, scratch-building with 30MS parts as a base — the platform handles all of it without fighting you.
The 30 Minutes Series accessories are where the system really earns its reputation. Weapon sets, option parts, extended armament vehicles, and dedicated accessory packs are all designed to plug directly into any compatible frame. Building a collection of accessory sets alongside the base kits gives you a parts pool that starts to feel less like individual kits and more like a modular inventory you pull from based on whatever you're building that week.
