The VF-19 Custom Fire Valkyrie is Basara Nekki's personal ride in Macross 7 (1994), the third Macross TV series and the one that took the franchise in a completely different direction. Basara leads the rock band Fire Bomber, and his answer to interstellar warfare is to hit Protodeviln forces with songs loud enough to save their souls. His Fire Valkyrie drops the standard gun pod in favor of massive speaker pods in the arms and legs. The Sound Booster add-on in this kit is the oversized amplifier array he carries into his biggest scenes.

This is the fifth kit in Bandai's HG Macross line, released in 2024 to mark Macross 7's 30th anniversary. The Shortcut Change three-mode system carries over, with parts swapping between Battroid, Gerwalk, and Fighter for the usual stable build. The headline feature is the Sound Booster itself: it attaches to the Fire Valkyrie in Battroid and Gerwalk modes, and this release adds a brand-new gimmick that lets you mount it in Fighter mode too, a configuration exclusive to this kit.

The shoulder speakers deploy via parts replacement, and telescoping gimmicks throughout the body handle the extended-speaker poses Basara uses when he's really going. Articulation follows the HG Macross standard with multi-axis chest movement and pull-out shoulders. Alongside the Sound Booster, you get hand parts, joint parts, landing gear, and Fighter mode conversion parts. The red-and-white Fire Bomber color scheme comes off the runners with solid separation, and the sticker sheets cover the band decals and smaller markings that give this kit its identity.
