Mr. Cement SPB is Mr. Hobby's Super Power cement in a black-dyed formulation. Chemistry is identical to MC131 Mr. Cement SP: a low-viscosity, fast-drying plastic model cement that flows into seams by capillary action and fuses styrene plastic chemically. The one big difference is visibility. The dark color lets you track where the cement flows, how much has soaked in, and whether any has escaped the seam.

That visibility is the whole point. When you're cementing parts that are already painted or molded in dark plastic, a clear cement can wick along panel lines or pool invisibly where you don't want it. SPB shows the flow in real time, so you can stop the second it travels past the seam. For Gunpla builders on darker frames or scale modelers working on camo tanks and aircraft, that control matters.

The cap has the same fine-tip brush as SP for precise application, and excess is easier to wipe off before it cures because you can see it. For fine alignment, pair it with the slower Mr. Cement S. For everyday bonds on light plastic, the clear SP is still the better call.

How to Use

Like SP, dry-fit your parts first, then touch the brush tip to the seam and let capillary action do the work. Because the cement is black, watch the flow carefully and stop the second it reaches the edge of the join. Wipe any excess with a dry cotton swab or a brush dipped in Mr. Cement S before the solvent cures, since black residue is harder to hide once it sets. Work in a ventilated space, keep the cap closed between applications, and avoid skin contact. Give at least a few minutes before handling and a full day before stressing the bond.
