If you've ever dealt with a thick, chunky gate on an MG or PG kit, you know that the standard nub removal approach takes longer and leaves more of a mess to clean up. The Raser Plus is built specifically for that situation. It's the heavy duty version of the Raser series, designed to handle thick gate marks on larger parts where you need more cutting power and a more stable grip than the Raser Origin provides.

What's different from the Raser Origin:

The two tools share the same Super-Nano technology and the same handcrafted rounded edges, but the Raser Plus is physically bigger and thicker. At 5mm thick versus the Origin's 3mm, it sits more solidly in your hand and gives you more control when working across wider, flatter surfaces. The extra grip makes a real difference on large panel areas like torso sections, leg armor, or shield backs where you're covering more ground with each pass. The cutting force is also stronger, which means it chews through thick gates faster. That said, the same principle applies: despite that aggressive cutting power, it leaves the surface smooth and ready for the Balancer rather than scratched up like a conventional file would.

The tradeoff is reach. The Raser Plus is better for open, accessible surfaces and larger parts. For tight spaces, recessed details, or smaller HG scale parts, the Raser Origin is still the right tool. A lot of builders end up keeping both on the workbench and switching between them depending on what they're working on.

How to use it:

Same workflow as the rest of the Raser series. Run the Raser Plus over the gate mark with light, consistent strokes. The weight and thickness of the tool do most of the work, so there's no need to press hard. Once the gate mark is flush and the surface looks smooth and even, you're done with this step. From there, move to the Balancer Gray to refine the surface, then the Balancer White to dial in the final gloss level. For a complete finish workflow, pair it with the Balancer and Recover from the Gate Remover Set.

Maintenance and care:

Plastic dust builds up on the surface during use and will reduce cutting performance if left there. Clean after each session with masking tape or water. If you rinse it with water, make sure it's fully dry before using it again. The tempered glass holds up fine under normal use but will crack from drops or hard impacts, so store it in the included case when it's not in use. Plastic only, never use on metal parts.
