Background
Steel Haze is V.IV Rusty's personal AC from Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon, the 2023 mecha action title from FromSoftware. Rusty is a Vespers pilot operating on Rubicon 3, introduced in the early chapters and reappearing throughout the campaign as one of the most memorable allies in the game. His build centers on the Nachtreiher/40E reverse-joint leg frame, which gives Steel Haze its trademark speed, boost performance, and the ability to stay high off the deck during engagements. The loadout matches his playstyle: fast, vertical, aggressive, anchored by the Vvc-774LS laser slicer and a rifle plus missile combo that defines most of his combat scenes.
Kit context
This release is the first entry in the new 30MM Armored Core line, launching under the 30 Minutes Missions umbrella. It shares the modular joint and frame system used across the rest of 30 Minutes Missions, so once more 30MM Armored Core kits drop you can swap frame components between builds and piece together your own custom AC. Released in 2024. The sculpt captures the Schneider and Nachtreiher silhouette cleanly, with proportions tighter than you'd expect from a snap-fit kit in this size class, and the mold detail holds up well even before paint. Build complexity stays accessible for newer builders while leaving experienced modelers a solid base for panel lines, weathering, and custom color schemes.
Kit features
Snap-fit assembly, no glue or paint required to complete the 30MM model kit. 3mm joints on both shoulders and several left-hand weapons let you mix and match loadouts across 30MM kits, which is where the real replay value of this line sits. The Vvc-774LS ships with replacement parts so you can display the laser slicer either folded on the back or fully deployed in its unfolded state. A dedicated weapon hanger clips to the left shoulder, giving you a mount point to store or relocate hand weapons for posing. Color separation is strong for the scale, and a sticker sheet covers the Steel Haze markings cleanly without requiring decals. Casual build time lands around 1.5 to 2 hours.
