GodHand Short Power Pin Vise Deep Collet Type

SKU:
GH-PBS-DC
The GodHand GH-PBS-DC Short Power Pin Vise Deep Collet Type is a compact, precision hand drill built for fine detail work on plastic models, with a steel deep collet that seats drill bits and scribing blades further in than a standard collet so your fingertips stay closer to the tip and in full control. At just 80mm total length it is the go-to pin vise when space is tight and accuracy matters.

Most builders reach for a pin vise the moment they need to open a peg hole, add a magnet cavity, run a scribing line, or clean up a drill entry. The tool is simple in concept, but once you use a well-made one you feel immediately how much the length, grip, and collet design affect precision. The GodHand GH-PBS-DC is the short version of their Power Pin Vise line, and the deep collet is the detail that sets it apart. Standard collets hold the bit near its base, pushing your fingertips away from the tip. The deep collet lets you seat the bit further into the body, pulling your fingertips noticeably closer to where the blade meets the plastic. On fine-scale work, say opening a 0.5mm magnet recess in a delicate Gunpla part, that extra proximity gives you a level of feel and control that a longer or shallower tool simply cannot match. The steel chuck grips firmly without the bit spinning freely under load, which is a common frustration with cheaper hobby drilling tools.

At 80mm total length this is a deliberately compact tool, and that is the point. For plastic model drilling, scribing, and deburring you want control over reach, and the short body makes it easy to work close in on a built-up assembly without catching surrounding parts. The brass body keeps weight down to around 40g so your hand does not fatigue over longer sessions. The slim rotating washer sits flat against your palm with no pressure points. It pairs directly with GodHand's own drill bit series at 2.5mm and 3.0mm shaft diameters, and accepts any compatible bit within the 2.5 to 3.2mm collet range. The rubber grip is non-slip and easy on the fingers even when applying steady rotational pressure into harder plastic.

How to Use

Loosen the front cap by rotating it counterclockwise, seat your drill bit or scribing blade as deep into the collet as it will go, then tighten the cap back down firmly before you start. The deeper the bit sits in the collet, the more stable and controlled your work will be, which is exactly the point of the deep collet design. For plastic model drilling, mark your entry point first with a pin or a sharp knife tip to stop the drill from skating across the surface. Start with very light pressure and let the bit find its own centre before increasing downward force. Spin from your fingertips using the rotating washer against your palm, not your full wrist, for the most controlled result. Keep your drill bit perpendicular to the surface unless you are deliberately angling for a specific detail. If the bit starts to skip or wander, reduce pressure and check that the collet is fully tightened. After use, check the collet for any plastic debris and wipe down the metal parts to keep the chuck mechanism clean and running smoothly.
