Chobo Diaries — Week 2

Hello everyone! Another week has passed, and wow... you've been talking to us a lot.

First things first: THANKS A LOT. ^o^ . Genuinely. Beyond all the messages about transferring MU-Type points, so many of you have been sending support and sharing feedback... what you liked about the new site, what you didn't (we were very relieved the positives heavily outweighed the negatives, haha). It honestly felt great to see that there's a real community out there rooting for us. So seriously, thank you.

What happened this week

The main goal was simple: get back to a normal state, ASAP. You might be thinking... hey, if the website is running fine, why are products still going up so slowly? Fair question. The short answer is that we're uploading everything manually, and even if you don't see the difference from 2.0 on the surface, there's a lot going on behind the scenes that's making it slower than usual.

On top of that, we're now in the fun part of transferring points and spoiler: it's not a one-click operation. Every single one is a manual checkup, and it's not a fast process at all. Anyway...

Uploads: The Eternal Duty

We're still moving at a slower pace than we'd like, but there's a reason. When the new goods started arriving weeks ago, we made a deliberate call to hold off on uploading anything until the system transfer was done. You have to draw the line somewhere. The problem is that line is now a wall, and our warehouse entrance has officially run out of space.

So we had to split up.

Becky our paladin, our crusader, our champion,  our last hope, that everyone is rooting for her and forgetting about me.... is staying on kit uploads... of product listings. Becky go, yeah, Becky go. 🙌

Meanwhile I'm handling everything else: other product categories plus all the new arrivals that have been piling up and need attention.

Zmeier and ChibiNeko (this nickname is an inside joke...) are having fun with other tasks that are more boring to explain in this post...

This week we managed to push out some new product batches, and we even started processing the PG Unleashed Nu Gundam preorders. Wait... you didn't know we already had them? Why didn't we say anything? Well... we received significantly less stock than we ordered. And to make things worse, some units are currently lost somewhere in Spain. So as expected, whatever arrived goes straight to preorder fulfillment first, and whatever's left will go up on the general store.

That was my fun moment of the week. The "oh yeah, this is fun... please give me more fun things that don't go as planned" kind of fun. You know that kind of fun that you prefer to laugh before crying (yeah very spanish translation with no sense of humor... unless you are spanish)

So... what else do we have in the pipeline?

Some smart person on our team had a brilliant idea: "oh we don't have enough decals, we need at least one decal for every kit we have in stock." Sounded great in theory. Then the box arrived. The team looked at me. And suddenly it was very clear whose mission this was. So now there's a very nice Delpi Decals box sitting right next to my desk, waiting patiently. It knows. I know. We're not ready.

On the bright side, we also have new Dspiae goods on the way somewhere... 2 weeks somehwere in Barcelona, we don't know yet but soon... Their catalog is absolutely massive and honestly just looking at it is a little overwhelming, so we made a smart call: we're not going to dump everything at once. We're going one collection at a time, steady and clean. No chaos. We've had enough chaos.

Growing Pains

Have you ever seen four people debating which is the best RX-78-2 kit? Or whether SEED is just 0079 on steroids or a genuine masterpiece? That level of intense, passionate, slightly unhinged and aggressive debate... that was our warehouse this week.

Because alongside the 3.0 launch, we also completely replaced our entire ERP system. Things that didn't match up, workflows that were different from what we were used to, processes that are supposedly more optimized... And they are. They genuinely are. It's just that right now, absolutely nothing looks optimized. It will be. Soon. Probably.

Why we wanted to change everything? as i told you before there is a smart team member in our team..... Anyway in my defense... I mean in his defense... I would say that the coffe machine has not been changed :)
