After the Raser removes the gate mark and the Balancer levels the surface, there's still one thing missing: the natural semi-gloss sheen that the surrounding plastic has. That's exactly what the Recover is for. It's the final step in the Gunprimer finishing workflow, and the one that makes the whole treated area disappear into the rest of the part.
What it is:
The Recover is a synthetic fiber polishing cloth built with a twill weave structure that buffs the surface back to its original semi-gloss finish. It's not a sanding tool. There's no abrasive cutting happening here. It works more like a fine burnishing cloth that smooths out the matte surface left by the Balancer's green side and brings the sheen back up to match the rest of the plastic. The result is a treated area that blends in cleanly without needing paint or topcoat over it.
It also doubles as a general surface wipe-down tool. Fingerprints, dust, light surface debris from sanding sessions: a quick pass with the Recover cleans all of that up and leaves the plastic looking fresh. Handy to have nearby on the workbench even when you're not in the middle of gate removal.
How to use it:
The Recover always comes after the Balancer's green side, not before it. The green side knocks the treated area down to matte and evens out the surface. Once that's done, you take the Recover and rub it over the area with light, consistent passes. The semi-gloss finish builds up gradually, and you can stop as soon as it matches the surrounding plastic. It doesn't take many passes at all.
This is the step that matters most if you're doing a straight build without paint or topcoat. Skipping it leaves the treated area looking slightly duller than everything around it, which is noticeable up close. With the Recover in the workflow, the finish is consistent across the whole part.
Worth knowing: if you want a full gloss result rather than semi-gloss, swap the Recover for the white side of the Balancer White after the green side step. The Recover lands you at the plastic's natural sheen. The Balancer White takes it further.
Maintenance:
The cloth can be washed with water when it gets dirty and reused. Make sure it's fully dry before using it again. Plastic only, never use on metal parts. Each pack includes 2 pieces.
