A brief outline of Mobile Suit Gundam Divers
Mobile Suit Gundam Divers, also known as Gundam Build Divers, is a 25-episode anime series set in the world of Gunpla Battle Nexus Online (GBN), a virtual reality massively multiplayer online game where players can create and control customized Gunpla models to engage in exciting battles.
The story follows Riku Mikami, an enthusiastic Gunpla builder and pilot who dreams of becoming the best Gunpla Diver. Riku, along with his childhood friend Yukio Hidaka, embarks on a journey to compete and form their own team, Build Divers. Riku pilots the GN-0000DVR Gundam 00 Diver, a customized version of the Gundam 00 from Mobile Suit Gundam 00, while Yukio pilots the RGM-86RBM GM III Beam Master, based on the GM III from Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ.
As they explore the world of GBN, Riku and Yukio befriend other unique Divers, such as the skilled builder and pilot Momoka Yashiro, who controls the adorable and powerful PEN-01M Momokapool, and the mysterious and talented Diver, Sarah.
Throughout the series, the Build Divers encounter a wide range of custom Gunpla from various Gundam series, including iconic mobile suits such as the RX-78-2 Gundam, ZGMF-X10A Freedom Gundam, and MSN-04 Sazabi. These custom Gunpla showcase the creativity and innovation of the builders, as well as their passion for the Gundam franchise.
Gundam Build Divers explores themes of friendship, teamwork, and personal growth, as the characters learn to work together, overcome obstacles, and develop their skills as builders and pilots. The series is a love letter to the Gundam franchise and Gunpla culture, celebrating the creativity and dedication of fans and builders worldwide.
